Now let’s get into it!

My Story

What completely changed my life was changing the way I lived day to day which included paying attention to what I put in and on my body. For many years, I suffered from fatigue, bloating, low energy, painful menstrual cramps, acne, you name it. A lot of these issues we have, especially as women, are overlooked. They say get blood work, go on birth control, take a medicine for this or a medicine for that, but that isn’t the answer because a lot of times that just makes it worse.

I can definitely say that I am a person that never wants to take medicine, I always tried to find my way around it unless it was very necessary for my health of course. I also am a firm believer in being my own guinea pig when it comes to seeing if something will actually work.

Hormonal imbalance is something that I struggled with and was always overlooked because I didn’t have the blood work results to “prove it” but I knew something was off because I had almost every symptom of hormonal imbalance and gut inflammation that just wouldn’t go away.

SO, one day I decided that there has to be another way and I’m going to find it myself if no one else is going to help me.

After being on the pill since High School and getting pretty much every negative side effect from it you can get, I decided it was time to stop. It was about to be my third month cycle off the pill and all the symptoms were just not getting any better. I decided to go to my kitchen, get my nutribullet out and blend a bunch of natural ingredients together that were known to aid in hormonal imbalance and gut inflammation and drink it every morning, along with cutting out almost all processed foods I could and gearing my diet to as natural as I can. A little less than a month later I got my period. Not even realizing I go about my day with minimal cramps, feeling better than I usually would. I was walking into the gym when I realized and said to myself “wait a
second, why do I have such bearable cramps on my first day” Usually my first day is the day the pain is so unbearable, what did I do differently? I realized that I had been taking that ‘anti-inflammatory potion’ every morning and changing my diet. Could that be it?

The sad part is that having a painful menstrual cycle is just so normalized and we’re made to just deal with it right!?  No.

Being my skeptical self I decided to conduct some more self research, the next month I stopped drinking those drinks every morning, letting up on my healthy routine slightly. I’m not going to lie, it was easier to give up making the drink than it was to make them every morning, since like I’m sure all of you can understand, I was so busy I barely had time to be cheffing up a magic potion
every morning before school or work. The next cycle rolled around and sure enough the pain came back with a vengeance it felt like.

But Why…

What a lot of women don’t realize is that the uterus is a muscle and it contracts during your menstrual cycle to help expel its lining. Prostaglandins, which are hormone-like substances, are involved in pain and inflammation. These trigger muscle contractions, therefore higher levels of prostaglandins = more severe cramps. Luckily there are some natural ways to help control these levels. Eating a high fiber, anti-inflammatory diet, taking magnesium, controlling estrogen dominance levels in your body, exercise and sleep.

For most people, it’s extremely difficult to live such a healthy lifestyle when you’re on the go and busy 24/7. That is why I incorporated everything  needed to help combat those problems in two veggies capsules a day so you can take them on the go, wherever you are.
